About Dr Dan

Dr Dan is passionate about the journey towards wellness

Zenkai proprietor and practitioner Dr Danielle Slade, registered Acupuncturist – fondly known as Dr Dan by her patients – has moulded a space that is a reflection of her rich professional character.

Equal parts precise, efficient and no bones comprehensive, these attributes are matched by an enduring passion, ceaseless empathy, and untiring dedication to delivering her clients empowering service that will maximise results.

With a wealth of knowledge accumulated over a 16 year career to date, you will walk away from a conversation with Dr Dan not only reassured she is very knowledgable in her field, but filled with a sense that you now also carry knowledge about your health and wellbeing.

Natural therapies have played an integral part to her life, a diabetic since the age of 3, Dr Dan was exposed to the lack of wellness protocols available through the traditional western medical system. Positive experiences with natural therapies left a lasting impression, along with an innate understanding of the base value of good health.

Her professional journey started studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, which she valued for it’s clinical research foundation and experienced an immediate natural affinity with the technique. Dr Dan trained in Australia, collected a broad range of clinical experience, both in her homeland and overseas. Driven by a desire to create an harmonious space that integrated practice and home, professional and personal, Dr Dan established her own private practice, seamlessly fusing her passions and greatest loves.

Dr Dan has evolved her rich repertoire of natural therapy techniques from an understanding that the “one size fits all” solution to health and wellbeing is far from adequate. And has sought to develop a wellness model for her practice through the conjunction of therapies that treat and address the spectrum of health and wellness conditions: diet, emotions, mind and spirit, exercise, supplements. Traditional Chinese Medicine, kinesiology and naturopathy are her core practices.

Dr Dan approaches every facet of life with a determination and passion to improve wellbeing. Seeking to enrich the lives of others in the very same way that she does her own.

It is undoubtedly evident, Dr Dan embodies the sentiment “Knowledge is Power”, as a practitioner, friend or acquaintance she selflessly shares with those that look for support in her approachable attitude to the pursuit of wellness.

Beyond her own practice, Dr Dan is the driving force behind a push to define Macedon Ranges as the wellness hub of Victoria. Her vision has motivated a collaboration of quality local practitioners to establish a referral network for servicing the wellbeing of greater Victoria.

Dr Dan’s community efforts are widespread and range from mapping a wellbeing dietary system in collaboration with local sustainable producers / sellers, to running health related community programs that support lifestyle changes in regional environments.
